It is possibly the most distinctive feature of Scouting as Sir Robert Baden Powell started Scouting in 1907 with camping on Brownsea Island in Poole Harbour

It gives children the chance to learn how to live with other people,discover the outdoor world and experience activities not usually available at a normal meeting. Camps can be just your own section, joining with other sections, uniting with other groups locally in your District or some very fortunate members can attend European or World jamborees.
